Experience, understanding, and compassion
With over 30 years of experience, I offer a thoughtful and collaborative approach grounded in respect for your unique story
MY APPROACH
I believe we all develop ways of coping with life’s difficulties, often from childhood experiences. These patterns may once have helped us survive emotionally—but sometimes they can hold us back later in life.
In therapy, we will gently explore these patterns together:
Understanding where they come from
Noticing how they affect you now
Identifying what you would like to change
I began my career as an occupational therapist, working in the NHS for over 30 years, mainly specialising in mental health and learning disability.
I trained in Cognitive Analytic Therapy in 1999, and quickly found the model intuitive to the needs people were bringing to the therapy room. My years in the NHS shaped a strong strengths-based approach, which remains central to my work today.
Endorsing and building on strengths is central to my work. I feel passionate about supporting a person to improve their quality of life through looking at how life events can challenge our sense of self and functioning in the world.
I offer a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space, where you feel heard and supported, regardless of your background, identity, gender, sexuality or beliefs.
